Most boiler manufacturers recommend an annual service, and for good reason. A yearly check keeps your heating running safely, spots small faults before they become expensive breakdowns, and usually keeps your warranty valid.
What a service should include
A proper service is more than a quick glance. Your engineer should inspect the boiler and its controls, check the flue and combustion, test for safe operation, and make sure the appliance is running efficiently. You should be left with a clear record of what was done.
Signs you should not wait
Book sooner if you notice a yellow or lazy flame, unusual noises, a boiler that keeps losing pressure, or a smell of gas. If you ever suspect a gas leak, turn off the supply at the meter, open windows and call the National Gas Emergency line straight away.
Keeping on top of it
Booking your service in late summer or early autumn means your heating is ready before the cold sets in, and engineers are less stretched than during the first frost. We service boilers across Bedford, St Albans, Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.
